How to use this dashboard
Figures are provider snapshots. Each live widget includes its provider and the time ValeDefi retrieved it.
ValeDefi presents read-only market information. It does not connect wallets, custody assets, execute trades or swaps, or move funds. Personal watchlists and manual holdings exist only in the current browser's local storage.
Provider responses are cached in the page runtime to reduce repeat requests. The dashboard refreshes on page load or when you request a refresh; it does not poll while open. If an API request fails after data has been cached, the cached value is marked stale. If no value is available, the display says N/A and explains the missing source field.
Glossary
Plain-language definitions for common dashboard metrics.
Total value locked: the estimated USD value of assets tracked as deposited in protocol contracts. Chain totals follow DefiLlama's chain methodology and exclude certain double-counted balances.
Fully diluted valuation, when supplied by the market data source. It estimates valuation using a fully diluted token supply; the source's calculation can vary.
APY includes compounding assumptions; APR is a simple annualized rate. The Yields page displays source-reported APY and does not independently verify a pool's realized return.
ValeDefi compares the source-reported price against a $1.00 reference for stablecoin status labels. This reference is suitable only for assets intended to target one US dollar.
CoinGecko's reported market-cap share by asset. BTC dominance is shown directly from the global response; the Overview's BTC/ETH pair displays both provider percentages.
Market cap and total volume are shown as reported by CoinGecko in the selected currency. ValeDefi does not derive a missing market cap from supply.
Metric calculations
Derived values are labeled; unavailable inputs remain N/A.
Fear & Greed history
Alternative.me's current score and classification are displayed as supplied. The dashboard compares the newest returned daily score with the preceding returned score and shows the difference in points. Its 30-row response is displayed as a mini history without smoothing.
Stablecoin supply and peg labels
Circulating supply is summed from the chain-level circulation values in DefiLlama's stablecoin response. Historical supply flows compare total circulating supply at the closest available snapshot to the current value. Peg deviation is |reported price − 1.00| ÷ 1.00: on-peg at or below 0.5%; slight deviation above 0.5% through 2%; depegged above 2%. A source-missing price or supply is N/A.
Market volume
24h market volume is the field reported by CoinGecko. DEX volume is the DefiLlama aggregate and may use its own inclusion rules. These totals are not directly interchangeable.
DEX volume
ValeDefi displays DefiLlama's provider-reported 24-hour total from its DEX overview response when present. It does not aggregate pool search results to estimate a market-wide value.
Fees and protocol revenue
Fees represent amounts users pay for protocol usage; revenue is the subset the protocol retains. Where DefiLlama provides period fields, ValeDefi displays them as reported. Missing period values are N/A.
Price-to-sales
Shown only when a source-reported market capitalization and 24-hour protocol revenue are both available and revenue is positive. Exact formula: price-to-sales = market capitalization ÷ (24h protocol revenue × 365). This annualizes a single 24-hour revenue snapshot and is not a forecast; the row labels this assumption.
Reference converter
For a requested amount, ValeDefi converts the amount to USD using CoinGecko market snapshots, then into the selected asset or currency. EUR reference prices use a separate EUR market response. The estimate excludes spreads, liquidity, execution, and fees and does not initiate any transaction.
Data sources and refresh behavior
Freshness labels show the time ValeDefi received a successful response, in UTC.
Market prices, market caps, volume, sparkline, trending search, categories, and coin history. ValeDefi cache: 60 seconds for market requests; one hour for categories. Add an optional Demo key via build-time PUBLIC_COINGECKO_DEMO_API_KEY.
Protocol and chain TVL, history, stablecoin supply, DEX volume, fees/revenue, and yield pools. TVL snapshots update hourly; time-range fee data may update hourly or daily. ValeDefi cache: five minutes for these endpoints; ten minutes for stablecoins.
Fear & Greed values and classification history. ValeDefi cache: one hour.
Trending/new pool snapshots and pool OHLCV history. ValeDefi cache: one minute. Public API availability and rate limits may vary.
Pair search snapshots. The official API describes pair-search fields for token and pair data; ValeDefi cache: one minute. It does not provide the pool candlesticks shown from GeckoTerminal.
Open-source chart rendering for coin and pool price history. Chart values are fetched from their corresponding data providers.
Provider schemas, service plans, and limits can change. ValeDefi reads these sources directly from the visitor's browser. A source that is unavailable or blocked by the browser is shown as unavailable; no sample numbers are substituted.
